An electronic competition will be held in Moscow for the conclusion of a state contract with counter investment obligations (offset contract) for the supply of batteries for electric vehicles. The order on this issue was signed by Sergei Sobyanin.
Under the terms of the contract, the supplier-investor will undertake to localize the production of 5 types of batteries for electric transport in the city within 3 years, including for electric buses, tram cars, Moskvich electric vehicles, river transport, electric scooters and bicycles.
Private investment in the project will amount to at least RUB 3 bn. Production will be organized at one of the sites of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone.
The Moscow Government will assume the obligation to purchase manufactured products within 7 years. Thus, Moscow guarantees a stable supply of batteries for urban electric transport.
