The Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy and the Moscow Investment Agency present you the next digest of the main investment events in the Russian capital.
The Investment Portal of the City of Moscow has a catalog of services some of them are available online. By the end of 2023, they were used 197 thousand times. As part of the implementation of the national project “Safe Quality Roads” and the city program “Development of the Transport System”, 115 kilometers of roads, 66 tunnels, overpasses, bridges and 19 pedestrian crossings were built. A number of megaprojects have been successfully completed, including a new chord highway - the Moscow High-Speed Diameter within the Moscow Ring Road.
The southern line of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) was opened in September 2023, its length in a straight line is about 28 kilometers. It starts at the junction of Enthusiasts Highway, crosses the Moscow River on a new bridge near the Kashirskoye Highway and connects tothe Moscow Ring Road near the Varshavskoye Highway.
The main section of the MSD was connected to the federal highway M-12 “East”. The six-lane highway (about five kilometers in a straight line) begins near the Lukhmanovskaya metro station, crosses Pokrovskaya, Sochinskaya, Maresyeva streets, runs along the Pekhorka River and connects to the new Moscow-Kazan highway, which was opened last year.
In 2023, investors rented nine city real estate objects under the “1 ruble per square meter a year” program. Among them are such buildings as objects of cultural heritage, such as the house of the sculptor Nikolai Andreev, the wooden house of the merchant Vinogradov and the city manor of the Shubins.
The program helps restore and preserve objects of cultural heritage, as well as open private schools, kindergartens and hotels in city buildings.
The special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow” turned 18 years old.
Since its creation, the territory of the SEZ has grown significantly and today includes six sites - more than 200 enterprises, 16.3 thousand jobs.
During its existence, the total volume of investments by companies into the city’s economics exceeded 160 billion rubles.
Over 100 manufacturers in the city produce computer equipment and electronics. They create motherboards, system units, base stations for the industrial Internet of things and many others. Thus, from January to October 2023, capital enterprises in this area increased production by 19.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022. In particular, Moscow companies have produced over 400 million integrated electronic circuits and more than 12 million printed circuit boards.
Organizations with the status of technology parks or industrial complexes can rent land plots from the city at a reduced rate since 2016 - 0.01 and 0.3 percent of the cadastral value, respectively. Nowadays 39 companies use such benefits. They rent territories with a total area of more than 100 hectares.
The benefit of a reduced rental rate for a land plot - is provided for 10 years and is available to enterprises operating in socially significant and knowledge-intensive industries, such as the food industry, pharmaceuticals and mechanical engineering. At the same time, companies must annually confirm their status.
Additive technologies play a significant role in the medical industry. With their help, it is possible to create complex and anatomically accurate solutions adapted to the individual needs of doctors and patients. For example, prostheses and implants for dentistry, cranial, maxillofacial and reconstructive surgery. “Moscow Technical School” offers capital industrialists two courses on the production of medical products using 3D printing. They were developed and discovered jointly with experts from Sechenov University.
For nine months of 2023, residents of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ saved over 3.1 billion rubles. This is a record amount over the past four years. It exceeds the results of the same period in 2022 by 3.5 times, when preferences amounted more than 857 million rubles. At the same time, the volume of investments made by residents of the capital’s SEZ for three quarters of 2023 reached 35 billion rubles. This means that for every ruble of tax benefits there were almost 11 rubles of investment by residents.
Within the framework of the “Microelectronics and Photonics” of the “Moscow Technical School” (MTS) project, a new educational program “Engineering of Nanomaterials” was opened. It was developed together with the National Research University “Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology” (MIET).
The usagee of nanomaterials is promising both in microelectronics and in other branches of science and technology. They have unique features, which make it possible to create compact, fast and energy-efficient electronic devices, and also stimulate the development of promising solutions. The Moscow Technical School program will allow engineers to develop the necessary set of professional competencies to carry out a new type of activity in the field of materials science, technology of nanomaterials and device structures based on them.
The residential building of merchant A.V. Krupennikov was put up for sale at the city auction. It was built by the architect Vladimir Rudanovsky in 1912–1913. The building in the Basmanny district has the total floor space of 702 square meters and it is an architectural monument of regional significance. The auction winner will have to restore the building and to adapt it for modern usage. The online auction took place on January 25th.
