The Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy and the Moscow Investment Agency present you the next digest of the main investment events in the Russian capital.

NEWS

SERGEY SOBYANIN APPROVED THREE PROJECTS UNDER THE PROGRAM TO STIMULATE THE CREATION OF EMPLOYMENT PLACES

Two new facilities will appear in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts at once. Thus, in the Vnukovo district (former settlement Marushkinskoye, quarter 48, land plot No. 2) a large-modular housing construction plant with an area of over 128.000 m2 will be built. And in the Krasnopakhorsky district (former settlement Mikhailovo-Yartsevskoye) a logistics park with an area of about 27.000 m2 will be built. In the north-west of the capital, in the Khoroshevo-Mnevniki district, office and sports premises with an area of over 11.000 m2 will be built as part of a multifunctional hotel complex. They will be built at the address: 2-y Silikatny proezd, land plot No. 8. All projects will be implemented through private investment within the framework of the city program for stimulating the creation of employment opportunities.

A MUSEUM WAS BUILT IN THE SOUTH OF MOSCOW UNDER THE PROGRAM TO STIMULATE THE CREATION OF PLACES OF EMPLOYMENT

The first museum was built in the capital under the program to stimulate the creation of employment opportunities (EAP). The institution will be able to employ about 200 people. Moscow signed an agreement to build a museum in the Danilovsky District in 2022. This is the first cultural institution that appeared in the capital under the program to stimulate the creation of employment opportunities. The museum will be able to receive up to 1.500 visitors at a time. The first floor of the building houses ticket offices, an interactive area, a cloakroom, a conference hall for 95 people, and a restaurant with a summer veranda. Floors from the second to the fifth are intended for permanent or temporary exhibitions of art objects.

MACROECONOMICS

CAPITAL ENTERPRISES PRODUCED ALMOST 800 TONS OF ICE CREAM DURING THE TWO HOTTEST MONTHS OF SUMMER

During the hottest months of summer, Moscow producers produced almost 800 tons of ice cream, some of which is exported. This year, it was most in demand in China, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan. In addition, factories annually present new combinations and unique technological solutions, such as ice cream with reduced fat content, sugar-free, vegan and even enriched with vitamins and calcium.

INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION VOLUME IN MOSCOW INCREASED BY 20% IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR

Moscow continues to see growth in production output. In the first half of the year alone, manufacturing output increased by 20 percent compared to the same period in 2023. High-tech industries are growing at a good pace, particularly in the pharmaceutical and mechanical engineering industries. The production of computers, electronic and optical products has doubled. In addition, the city has begun to produce more food, beverages, paper, detergents, cosmetics, and furniture.

MOSCOW TECHNICAL SCHOOL OPENED A COURSE ON REVERSE ENGINEERING

The Moscow Technical School (MTSh) together with the National University of Science and Technology MISIS have launched a new distance learning program in reverse engineering within the Additive Technologies program. The course "Reverse Engineering in the Context of Import Substitution. Review of Modern Diagnostic Tools and Analysis of Best Practices" provides engineers with unique opportunities to study reverse scanning processes. The program will allow industrialists to comprehensively master the mechanisms for diagnosing the characteristics of a research object and carrying out reverse engineering work. Thus, employees will be able to build up their competencies for adapting and improving existing technologies, as well as extending the service life of operating equipment in conditions of limited access to the foreign market. The course is designed for 16 academic hours and will be useful for specialists in engineering and technology centers and design bureaus, employees of technological and commercial services implementing import substitution tasks.

A MOST POWERFUL PHARMACEUTICAL CLUSTER IS BEING FORMED IN MOSCOW

Moscow is forming a powerful pharmaceutical cluster. This is an important contribution to the development of the capital's healthcare and the national project "Healthcare" - many capital companies supply their products to medical institutions throughout the country. The total area of pharmaceutical and medical companies that have located their production in the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" is more than 300.000 m2.

AUCTION

THE CITY HAS PUT THREE COMMERCIAL PREMISES IN KUZMINKI UP FOR AUCTION

The city has put up for sale three non-residential premises for general use in the Kuzminki district in the southeast of Moscow. Entrepreneurs will be able to purchase properties ranging from 34.5 to 83.5 m2 at auction. The properties on offer are located on the first floor of a new multi-apartment residential building at 155 Volgogradsky Prospekt, not far from the Kuzminki metro station. It will be possible to open a store, cafe or pharmacy, a pick-up point or a beauty salon here. Commercial properties on the first floors are traditionally in demand among Moscow entrepreneurs. Over 1,100 such lots were sold at auctions in the first half of 2024 alone. The application period ended on August 29. The cost of the properties was determined during open auctions held on September 9.
