How to register a legal entity

1. Putting the paperwork together

The list of documents required for the official registration of a legal entity can be found on the official website of the Federal Tax Service and is established by Article 12 of Federal Law No. 129-FZ “On State Registration of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs” of 8 August 2001.

2. Determining the tax inspectorate for submitting the documents

The rules for state registration are established by Federal Law No. 129-FZ “On State Registration of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs” of 8 August 2001.
The address for registering a legal entity is that of its CEO: director, general director, etc. The address of the founder’s own office and the home address of the firm’s CEO may be used as the organisation’s address. The address of a rented property may also serve as the company’s address. 3. Submitting the documents

The documents may be submitted to the tax inspectorate either in person or remotely, whichever is more convenient.

4. Receiving state registration documents

If the paperwork is in order, in 3 (three) business day, you will receive:

A copy of the Articles of Association, stamped by the registering body;
A record sheet from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

How to Register an Individual Entrepreneur

1. Putting the paperwork together

The list of documents can be found on the official website of the Federal Taxation Service.

2. Determining the tax inspectorate for submitting the documents

An individual is registered as an individual entrepreneur with the duly authorised tax inspectorate serving the individual’s address, i.e., the registration address indicated in the applicant’s passport.

If there is no registration address indicated in the passport, state registration of an independent entrepreneur may be performed by a duly authorised inspectorate serving the applicant’s current residential address.
