Alexei Vorobyov, PepsiCo, Director for Government Relations for Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan

In May 2016, our biggest dairy enterprises, the Lianozovo and Tsaritsyno Dairy Manufacturers, gained Moscow industrial complex status and, already in July, they began to enjoy the benefits offered by Moscow’s support mechanism for the economy’s real sector. We had held a series of meetings with representatives of the Moscow City Government to discuss implementing the mechanism. All the necessary approvals had been obtained under the one-stop-shop principle, which made it much easier to join the programme. Speaking of the reduced tax burden, I can state with confidence that we save considerable funds for re-investment in developing our Moscow enterprises.

Dmitry Surkov, Deputy Director for Economics and Finance, Lianozovo Electromechanical Plant Research and Production Corporation

The procedure for obtaining benefits from the Moscow City Government under to the industry support mechanism took a short time. I would like to note first that the support programme is very open in information terms and simple to join. We estimate the tax benefits we received to be about RUB 60 m a year. Over the ten years for which the status was granted, this will translate into significant sums, especially when we carry out an in-depth equipment modernisation.

Sergei Kerber, Head, Investment Projects and Programmes Department, Managing Director, Leader Managing Company:

Jointly with the city, we are constructing the Northern Bypass to Kutuzovsky Prospekt, a new toll highway to provide fast transit between the Moscow Ring Road and Moscow City. It is important for us to offer people more options, including in choosing a driving route: if you are in no hurry, you can take the slower route; if you are running late, you can take an expressway. We are very grateful to the city, because it pays great attention to maintaining proper collaboration. Since it is a comprehensive project, the Department of Economic Policy and Development of Moscow acts as a guide in our collaboration with the city and the project is moving along successfully.

Andrei Pankov, General Director, Renault Russia:

Renault Russia and the Moscow City Government have long-term relations based on strategic partnership. Moscow’s support both contributes to development of the industrial project and introduction of high technologies, and stimulates growth of other Russian enterprises, such as car part suppliers. Renault’s industrial project entails large-scale manufacturing localisation. Our company continues to discharge the obligations it has undertaken, as it successfully manufactures cars in Moscow. Automation is being expanded and R&D potential enhanced with respect to both personnel and technology. Technology development in Moscow is conducive to employees’ enhancing their qualifications and to increasing our products’ competitive edge. We are proud that Renault’s Moscow plant was entrusted, in spring 2016, with launching manufacturing of the Renault Kaptur global model.
