NEWS

AS A RESULT OF 2023 MOSCOW HEADED 33 NATIONAL RATING OF CITIES AND REGIONS OF RUSSIA

At the end of 2023, Moscow took first place in 33 leading national rankings of cities and regions of the Russian Federation, confirming the high level of development of industry, technology, work in the field of environmental protection and improving the quality of life of citizens. Ratings are an important tool for assessing the performance of government authorities: they allow one to assess the quality of implementation of regional or urban development policies in general and in individual areas. Ratings help us identify the most effective solutions, identify promising growth areas and carry out qualitative adjustments to city management plans.

A FACTORY FOR THE PRODUCTION OF RUSSIAN GLUCOMETERS HAS APPEARED IN THE SEZ TECHNOPOLIS MOSCOW

The capital company, a resident of the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow, completed the construction of a plant for the production of medical equipment and consumables at the Alabushevo site. The new production will provide the country's market with smart domestic glucometers, as well as the first Russian devices for continuous monitoring of glucose levels. There are about 200 manufacturers of medicines and medical products in the capital. At the same time, about 25 enterprises in the industry localized their production at the sites of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. At the end of 2023, they invested more than RUB 10 bln in their development. Thus, a resident of the capital’s SEZ completed the construction of a plant for the production of domestic glucometers. More than 160 jobs will be created here. Investments in the project exceeded RUB 2.2 bln. The start of production at the Alabushevo site is scheduled for the end of 2024.

THE VOLUME OF FOOD PRODUCTION IN THE CAPITAL INCREASED ALMOST 2.4 TIMES

In January–February 2024, capital industrialists increased the production of meat, fish, dairy and other food products by 136 percent compared to the same period in 2023. The Moscow food industry is represented by more than 290 enterprises employing over 60.000 people. With the support of the city, they are actively increasing production - in two months of 2024, its volume increased almost 2.4 times. In total, goods worth almost RUB 117.4 bln were shipped during this period, which is 20.6 percent higher than the same period in 2023.

FOR SHIPBUILDING, PETROCHEMICAL AND AVIATION INDUSTRY: A CAPITAL MANUFACTURER HAS SETUP THE PRODUCTION OF AN ELEMENT FOR CABLE PROTECTION

The Moscow cable plant "Spetskabel" has launched serial production of metal braided wire for shielding electrical cables. The element is used to protect the product from mechanical damage and electromagnetic interference. Systemic support from Moscow allows the plant to develop dynamically, master the production of innovative products and strengthen the technological sovereignty of the country. Thus, the new element serves as reliable protection of cables from mechanical damage, radiation and electromagnetic interference. Shielding braids are resistant to aggressive environments and can operate in a temperature range from minus 70 to plus 155 degrees Celsius. The service life of the products is at least 35 years. Today the company has supplied over 300 km of such braids.

SUPPORT MEASURES

"MOSCOW TECHNICAL SCHOOL" TRAINED OVER 200 SPECIALISTS IN THE FIELD OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

More than 200 employees of capital enterprises received the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of artificial intelligence thanks to the Moscow Technical School (MTS) project. We opened the “Artificial Intelligence in Industry” direction in 2022 to develop skills and competencies in the field of high technologies among employees of industrial enterprises. Since then, the Moscow Technical School has trained over 200 engineers who are able to use AI tools to reduce production costs, increase the efficiency of enterprises, and also control and optimize industrial processes at sites. Today, about 40 courses in this area are available to employees of capital factories. The Moscow Technical School is developing the program together with 13 partners. Among them is Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman, Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics, National Research University Higher School of Economics, Russian Economic University named after G.V. Plekhanov and other universities.

SERGEY SOBYANIN DECIDED ON ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES

< The Moscow Fund for the Support of Industry and Entrepreneurship has been allocated an additional RUB 400 mln for these purposes, which will attract about RUB 2.5 bln of investment in the technical re-equipment of city industries. The list of measures to support industrial enterprises includes compensation for the cost of leasing payments.

The program to support city industry was approved by the Moscow Government in 2022. It provides a preferential rate on loans for investment purposes in the amount of three percent per annum with a maximum loan volume of RUB 3 bln.

In 2023, over 40 industrial companies took part in this program, attracting RUB 105 bln in soft loans. Over 700 pieces of equipment were purchased with these funds, more than 900.000 m2 of production space will be built and over 15.000 jobs will be created.

For RUB 1 issued under the preferential investment lending program, there are up to RUB 55 of private investment.

“LIFESTYLE IN INDUSTRIAL DESIGN”: A NEW COURSE OPENED AT “MOSCOW TECHNICAL SCHOOL”

The Moscow Technical School (MTS) together with the National Research University Moscow Energy Institute (MPEI) has developed a course on Lifestyle in Industrial Design. Now 16 programs within the thematic module are available to engineers in the capital.

INVESTORS RENTED MORE THAN 60 REAL ESTATE PROPERTIES UNDER THE CITY PROGRAM “1 RUBLE PER SQUARE METER PER YEAR”

Under the preferential program “RUB 1 per m2 per year,” entrepreneurs have already rented 62 buildings and premises in the capital to open a business in cultural heritage sites and locate children’s educational institutions and hotels. The program benefits everyone: the city, entrepreneurs and residents. Thanks to it, the architectural appearance of Moscow is being transformed, new projects are being implemented, and businesses have the opportunity to use capital real estate at a symbolic price. Currently, under the “RUB 1 per m2 per year” program, there are 62 lease agreements for buildings and premises with a total area of 60.400 m2. Investors who occupy 43 real estate properties have already fulfilled all the terms of the agreements and switched to a preferential rental rate.
