This ranking is compiled by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. This year it is based on the assessment of the regions according to five criteria: economic development, interaction with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Industrial Development Fund; support measures and development institutions; business activity; youth policy; industrial tourism and digitalization.
In total, about 3 thousand industrial enterprises operate in the capital. Moscow is actively developing its economic block and has a high potential for improving the industrial sector. Thus, the volume of industrial production in Moscow increased by 36.6% in 2021. A large contribution to this was made by manufacturing enterprises, which increased their output by more than 40% over the year.
