China’s Investment in the Moscow Economy almost doubled in 5 Years

As of October 1, 2021, the accumulated volume of investment from China to the capital of Russia is USD 912 m. Of these, USD 644 m belong to the capital of Moscow enterprises. Over 5 years, Chinese business investments have grown by 1.7 times, during the reporting six months - from April to September 2021 - by 3.9%. Trade between Moscow and China is also growing: in 2021 it amounted to USD 64.47 bn, which is 33.9% more than a year earlier.

The volume of Moscow’s exports to China in 2021 amounted to USD 30.37 bn. This is 14.7% of the total capital exports. By 2020, the growth amounted to 43.5%. Imports exceeded USD 34 bn, 26.4% more than a year earlier.
