German business has invested USD 7.8 bn in Moscow

Today, Germany remains one of the largest foreign investors in Moscow. According to the Central Bank, as of April 1, 2021, the accumulated direct investments of Germany in Moscow reached USD 7.8 bn. Over the year, their volume increased by about USD 0.4 bn.

The trade turnover between Moscow and Germany is also growing: in January–August 2021, it amounted to USD 19.9 bn, which is almost 60% more than in the same period last year.

There are many examples of localized German enterprises and offices in Moscow. Thus, the production facilities of industrial companies Symrise Rogovo, VEKA Rus, NSH Group are located in the city. The German conglomerate Siemens, working in the fields of electronics, electrical engineering, power equipment and transport, serves the Lastochka trains for the MCC at the Podmoskovnaya depot. German Hyperglobus and Metro Cash and Carry retail chains are also operating in Moscow. The companies Bayer, Bautex, Henkel Rus, Profine RUS and others have their representative offices in the Russian capital.
