The gross regional product (GRP) of Moscow in 2015 amounted to 13.3 trillion rubles. (222.1 billion US dollars according to the average annual rate of the Bank of Russia).

The Moscow economy is characterized by a diversified post-industrial GRP structure. The largest contribution to the city GRP is made by trade (32.3% of GRP), as well as business and financial services, real estate transactions, research and development (24.5% of GRP). Industry accounts for 16% of the gross added value (including 12.6% for manufacture).
